Poetic Review - The Wrath by Gena Showalter

New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter returns with a new book in the tantalizing Rise of the Warlords series, featuring a brutal Hell king and the irresistible beauty who upends his world.

For centuries, Rathbone the Only, King of Agonies, has existed for one purpose: recovering the en-chanted bones of his slain wife to bring her back to life. He’s never been closer to success. But a new enemy has risen. A band of deadly war gods who have thirty days to destroy her or suffer the conse-quences. With time running out, Rathbone hires a maddening harpy-oracle, unaware she has an agenda of her own.

Neeka the Unwanted is a fierce warrior on a mission: stop Rathbone and the gods. She’s seen the fu-ture if either is victorious, and it’s horrifying. She’ll do whatever proves necessary to forge a new path, even seduce the ruthless royal from his purpose. What she can’t predict? How the intense male will shatter her hard-won defenses along the way.

As Rathbone battles unexpected betrayals, cunning foes and the wild temptress he craves with every fiber of his being, he knows he must choose: hold on to a cold dream or embrace a new flame.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A special story in a special series - here comes the odd one out,
If you have any doubts about it, come closer and hear me out.
We are still in the world of the Astra Planeta, that is not changing,
Only our Hero is not one of them, but Rathbone, a Hell king.
We know and love him already, so how could this be bad?
But if he wasn’t enough, there is something else to add.
Because the heroine is also a fan favorite, in demand,
Neeka the oracle is finally here to make a stand.
We could say this is a story of exes and ohs,
Finding the real true mates and even more foes.
Who is the enemy? Who is the friend?
Who can be trusted and who only pretends?
The entertainment is given, but so much more,
Expect the unexpected, there’s plenty to explore.
Our characters have a hard road ahead,
To save the world and not get dead.
All in all, it is again an excellent addition,
A great mix of hotness and fun as well as action.
/P.S.: Of course, that’s already a tradition,
We are speaking about a Showalter fiction./
